His scientific work contributed essential to this field. Bielschowsky worked and teached from 1912-1923 at the University Eye Clinic in Marburg and from 1923-1935 in Breslau. He was forced to emigrate and preceded his scientific career at the Dartmouth-Medical-School in Hanover, New Hampshire (USA).
